First Aid For The First Years was created by co-founders Zoe and Maggie.
Zoe has been a Registered Paramedic for 12 years, holds a certificate IV in training and assessment and has taught paramedical students at a university level.
Maggie holds dual registration as a Registered Paramedic and Registered Nurse and has 10 years of experience in the field. Maggie also has multiple Australian titles in first aid competition.
After becoming new mums in 2022 we made it our mission to educate and empower as many caregivers as possible in all aspects of baby and child first aid. We wanted to share our knowledge and skills to help others feel confident in caring.
First Aid For The First Years has been based on over 20 years of combined experience as Registered Paramedics and aligns with evidence based practice and current Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines.

No worries!
If you cant find 8 people to attend your private course you are welcome to book for a smaller group however you will need to pay the minimum fee between you.
Alternatively you could consider attending a public course or purchasing our online course.
We will have a 15 minute break in the middle of the course which should be enough time to stretch your legs, have a coffee or a tea and a bite to eat.
We sure do!
We bring a laptop to plug into your TV, CPR / skills manikins to practice on, a first aid kit and a fun and positive vibe.
We can accommodate up to 30 guests, can you tell we love a party?
As mums ourselves we LOVE children so you are more than welcome to have your little ones with you at your private course.Â
If you want to be fully engaged with the content, you may like to consider having another person available at home to help lend a hand throughout the course. We sometimes find parents can struggle to wrangle kids, while also having free hands to learn practical skills.
We do find that courses can run slightly over time when children are in attendance so please allow an extra half an hour just in case.
Also for the record we are very much breast feeding friendly, feel free to feed anywhere anytime!
You sure do!
Not only will you take home the skills needed to save a life, you will also receive our first aid manual keyring, which is a quick reference guide covering everything you learn in the course and more (so no need to take notes).
You will also receive our first aid flow chart and medication tracker fridge magnet set.
We understand that life can be unpredictable, and we’ll always do our best to reschedule your course to a date that works for both parties.
However, as a small business, last-minute changes have a significant impact on our business. When a booking is made, our staff are booked in, childcare arrangements are made, and your place is held—often without the ability to rebook it at short notice.
-
For public and private courses rescheduling with less than 72 hours notice will incur a $50 reschedule fee per person. This must be paid in full before securing your next course date.
- Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice are not eligible for rescheduling or a refund.
- We do not offer refunds for cancellation or change of mind.
